Overview

About KickPost

KickPost is a platform that connects vendors, resellers, and sales reps to help them collaborate, share incentives, and drive sales together. Over time, the internal product had become difficult to navigate and inconsistent across experiences. Sales reps struggled to quickly find relevant content, understand their incentives, and take action.

Over 4 months, I redesigned the full product experience by modernizing the interface, restructuring navigation, and creating clearer workflows around the tasks that mattered most. The product had no existing design system, so I built a complete component library from scratch. This created a scalable foundation that helped the team design and ship future features more consistently.

Problem

Why we were redesigning

KickPost delivered real value by connecting vendors, resellers, and sales reps in one platform. But as the product evolved, the experience became harder to navigate and less effective for the people using it every day. Sales reps struggled to find what they needed quickly. Navigation relied on unlabeled icons, different content types looked nearly identical, and important information like incentives and payouts was buried behind multiple interactions.

The product also lacked a design system, resulting in inconsistent patterns across the interface. The redesign focused on simplifying navigation, improving content hierarchy, and creating a scalable design foundation that made everyday tasks faster and easier.

How did we solve it

Our Approach

The redesign focused on making the product easier to navigate, easier to scan, and easier to act on. We started by simplifying the structure. Navigation was redesigned with clear labels, and the homepage surfaced the metrics sales reps cared about most, including projected payouts, pending payouts, and sales. This made the most important information visible as soon as they signed in.

Next, we improved the content experience. Posts, incentives, training, and assets were given distinct visual treatments, making it much easier to scan the feed and find the right content quickly. Since the product had no existing design system, I also built a complete component library from scratch. It became the foundation for every redesigned screen and gave the team a consistent system to build future features on.

The Product Before The Redesign

Before the redesign, the product had become difficult to navigate and scan. Navigation relied on icons without labels, content types looked nearly identical, and important information like pending payouts was easy to miss. Without a design system, patterns and components had also become inconsistent across the product, making the experience feel fragmented.

For sales reps who were often checking the platform between customer calls, it took too much effort to understand what needed attention and what to do next.

The Impact

The Final Designs

The redesigned homepage gives sales reps the information they need the moment they sign in. Projected payouts, pending payouts, and sales are surfaced at the top, while quick actions make the most common tasks just one click away.

The content feed was redesigned with distinct visual treatments for posts, incentives, training, and assets, making it much easier to scan and find what's relevant. Alongside the redesign, I built a complete design system from scratch, creating a consistent foundation that could scale as the product evolved.
